March 27, 2012 at 9:21 pm #175472Dear Joomlart,
In the last two months, I have been insulted by one of your moderators. It is not something personal, it is just a matter that he is unable to provide any kind of support, but still is getting in every topic I start. I don’t know why he is doing that, but it doesn’t help anyone.
When I start a thread, he usually replies some pre-learned phases and when it is more than obvious that the topic doesn’t concern what he is talking about, he continues to post irrelevant information. When he is asked to stop, he starts sending warnings as private messages and to insult the users.
In my opinion, this person doesn’t have the necessary knowledge to be a moderator and is simply not competent enough, however this is only my opinion and I don’t want to argue about it.
I simply want to ask, someone who is above this person to ask him the following:
1. To not reply in topics started by me. I don’t know why this person always jumps in my threads, but I don’t like his arrogant behavior and simply ask to not reply in my topics. There are other, more competent people from the JA stuff, who provide reasonable help.
2. To ask this person to stop putting me warnings like for the post bellow:
http://www.joomlart.com/forums/showthread.php?p=310526#post310526
I asked a question. Didn’t get anything like an answer, the topic had a mark “Answered”, while it was not. For this post I got the following PM:

”Insulted Other Member(s)You have been warned before about your antagonistic attitude . . . knock it off. “

I am sorry, I am paying member and I am not here to play games with some child, who has spare time and give and receive warnings, points or whatever. I am rarely asking questions, I probably answer more often and I consider the behavior of this moderator as unprofessional and unethical.
If this moderator has problems with me of any kind or has problems with his mentality, please just ask him to stay away from my threads. From the topic above, I am more than sure that you are aware who is this moderator.

March 28, 2012 at 7:13 am #446064Hi VisiGod,
Call it unfortunate incident and as i see the thread in question one thing led to another.
As a member you are right in asking update for JA Social and we at Joomlart are supposed to give status / timeframe on the same. Tom and other moderators were not aware of the updated files given by JomSocial team and only Hung or me decide on the workflow. The thread timing was in the evening, so an official response was delayed.
The ban was not necessary nor was deletion of this post. I have restored the same and do apologize for whatever happened yesterday. Not to undermine or ignore your views but Tom is a good guy, he can be blunt at times.
The core issue is that its not possible to upgrade the templates the very moment 3rd party extension developer releases a new version. JA Social is primarily Joomla! Template with added styles for 3rd party extensions and it is one of the 100+ templates we have and it is always broken by JomSocial updates. This is not true with K2 or Kunena components version releases. So we prefer to wait a while to make sure that there is no quick release by the 3rd party developer.
JA Social was updated for JomSocial on 22nd feb and 14th march and now again there is new version. It is not always feasible to update the templates at such frequency, as it eats up time of coders and testers.
We will release updated version for JA Social but in some time, we have other priority work lined up.
I do appreciate your support and love for JA products, you have been around for long and inspite of the awkward moments, you are still amongst us, I respect that and apologize for yesterday stuff.
Regards
Arvind
