    Hi everyone,
I use Ja_teline_II for Joomla 1.5.6 (version Quickstart). Can we establish which Article will be display at JA News (Home page)?
    Best regards.

    Hi Tran

By JA News do you mean the top ‘JA News Front Page’ articles (five on the quickstart site), or the articles below in the categories?

The top ‘five’ JA News Front Page you have to ‘nominate’ by clicking ‘Front Page’ in the Article Manager. In admin you can then go to ‘Content –>Front Page Manager’ and decide the order that you want these 5 ‘featured’ articles.

For the bottom ‘section’ articles. This (by default) is set to publish by date. For instance, if I publish right now, an article in ‘World’, then it will appear on the front page under the ‘World’ section heading, as this is the newest published article in this section.

I hope this helps, if not, please ask again and send URL or screengrabs for question.

    Best Wishes
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
    Thank you for quick answer.
I mean here the bottom ‘section’ articles. First I think as you: the newest article is published in this section. But after published a new article the newest article don’t replace the old one.
My web: http://www.m24eu.com, Please see the section “Food & Beverage” : the article “C&A Products Co., Ltd -> Thursday, 11 September 2008 ” is appear on the front page , not the newest “International Rice & Products Co., Ltd -> Monday, 15 September 2008 “.
    Best regards.

    Hi Tran

Was the ‘newer’ article actually created prior to the ‘older’ article but not published?

Try to open ‘International Rice & Productes Co. Ltd’ article and change the ‘Created Date’ and ‘Start Publishing’ dates in the calendar to today and re-save … this is done in article editor here:

Please let me know if this works!

Sometimes this happens if you create an article before publishing it. It’s the ‘created date’ that comes top/front page, not published date. So change ‘created date’ to today to fix!

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Tran

    This is strange!

If you go to Admin –> Module Manager

and open JA News module, what do you have for “Article Order”?

You can choose from ‘order’ (this is done with the ‘arrows’ in your article manager list), or Published Date or Modified Date.

Maybe you can try to change this option for a fix, or make sure that the articles are in the correct ‘order’ in the list?

Let me know if this works!

    Thanks
    Chris

    Hi Chris!
Well done! It was “Order”, I changed to “Created Date” and it’s OK. Thank you very much!

    Hi Chris,
So we do not establish which Article will be display at JA News by other ways ( like JA New Frontpage )?
