I’ve had problems since I downloaded this template yesterday. This is currently being installed on a local development machine (not online) so I can not provide url/user/pass etc. Upon installing the quickstart I immediatly recieved HTML 500 errors after the initial Joomla install. I can get into the backend just fine. If I pick a different template everything works fine. If I disable the jaslideshow2 module and enable this template everything works fine. With the module enabled it breaks the front end of the site and I only see a blank white screen. If I turn on php errors I get the following errors when viewing the website frontend:
***
Warning: call_user_func(imagecreatefromjpeg)
[function.call-user-func]: First argument is expected to be a valid
callback in C:wwwpublicmodulesmod_jaslideshow2jaimage.php on line
265Fatal error: Call to undefined function imagecreate() in
C:wwwpublicmodulesmod_jaslideshow2jaimage.php on line 278
***I’ve also tried installing a base joomla install and then adding the template and then installing the modules and I end up with the same result. The templete files were just downloaded yesterday and as far as I can tell are the most recent. These are the specifics of the machine I am developing the site on:
Windows 7-64bit
php 5.2.12
apache 2.2.14
mysql 5.1.41
Joomla 1.5.15I have not modified any files or added anything to the quickstart files.

January 18, 2010 at 10:27 pm #329665Looks like something to do with your self hosting. I have just tested this template on my setup and it works fine. Are you using a package such as xampp or wamp or have you setup apache/php yourself

January 19, 2010 at 12:46 am #329675I have setup the individual applications myself. I’m not going to say that there is no chance that it is my system setup but I have been using the same setup for years with no problems with JA templates or other templates. I am also able to use the 1.0 version of this template without error. It is the version 2 of the jaslideshow that is giving me the issue and looking at the php error it seems specific to the calling of a function that does not exist. I have scanned through the code and can not find the function that is being called… which holds true with the error. Not that I am an expert level coder but I have been doing it for a little bit. It should also be noted that I have tried the template on 2 different computers with slightly different setups and with the same end result.
January 19, 2010 at 1:13 am #329676Okay, I have tested and I believe that it is something to do with my local host setup. I tested this out by uploading the quickstart to siteground and testing… and it works. Now my problem is that I would like to develop this on my local machine and would like to know if there are any specific settings in PHP that need changed in order for this to work. I don’t believe the problem could be related to Apache or mysql… leaving only PHP as the culprit. Any insight/assistance/thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
