    Hello,
I’m relatively new to the Joomlart community- lots of great things happening. I’ve posted an issue and haven’t had response for a couple days. In going through other issues I was only able to come up with a couple different moderators…I’d really like to know who they are, how many there are. In my humble opinion, there aren’t enough. There are other communities where answers are answered a bit quicker by trusted moderators…looking at the skill set of some of the members, I believe some would be great additions to the moderator/problem solver crew.

    Thanks in advance,

    tm

    good feedback tim

I actually applied to be a moderator and also was given the opportunity to become one. I was at the time going away for some training for a few weeks, but after coming back, I didn’t have as much time I would to spare in order to help people on joomlart.

I tend to pop round when I get a spare min and see what I can do to help them. However, whether I am a moderator or not, I will still help members who need the help in order to get their site up and running properly.

I guess there are many others here who feel the same too. They bunch of people on here who do help out are fantastic and very trustworthy.

Thanks for the feedback and I do hope the feedback is taken well by the JA staff.

Compared to another template community, I don’t see the response or community cohesiveness that I’d like to. That’s just IMHO by the way. Questions: Are there too many products and a less than optimum infrastructure to handle the requests? Could be. I actually would not expect any user the responsibility of answering or solving issues. I’ve got this phrase that I like to use…”From the Top Down.” If it’s not right to begin with, you get the point.

to address the topic, I also applied to be a moderator, but nothing became of it.

I suggest that they create a section for management and moderators bios such as I did on this site,
    dosid.net/company/the-management-team.html

its adds a lot of credibility and creates a level of trust.

Very nice Mj. Perhaps I’ll do that on my forum. I don’t have a lot of people ask who the moderators are but it might be a worthy cause for those who are confused on the matter.

Bah! MJ I was just about to post something like that!

It’d be ideal to have a list of moderators as a sticky / at the top of the forum page or even the forum index page (as I can see that most forum mods won’t have a photo and might not be willing to have a photo up).

As long as there is a link to their profile, where people can ask questions from – this would be more than enough.

normally on most forums, you see the forum is moderated by…. bit at the top.

Thank you for your suggestion, we used to have memberlist link at the top but some of vbulletin modification has removed the link. I will find a good postilion to put it back.

Although that is the list of official & unofficial moderators, there is a more complete list of Ja staff etc here.
A lot of the Admins and Ja staff also moderate. We don’t want to forget their hard work. 😉

That list is OK, but it is really just a list of users. Of all the members of this site, most just have nefarious user names. I really don’t know anyone’s first (or last for that matter) name. In my humble opinion – very humble, I just don’t get that community feeling.

a list of moderators will be handy indeed.

For joomlarts defense i believe that support has become better quite abit better last weeks, so good job there.

Next to that there are a some really helpfull members around.

ps. to the topic starter any problems you need help with?

    Hi Mj,

I couldn’t see that dosid.net/company/the-management-team.html, is the site down? Would be curious to see what you did.

    This list here: http://www.joomlart.com/forums/showgroups.php
is the most unordered and confusing i have ever seen.
    The moderators/support staff here is:
    – MICCAS
    – hainn84
    – nguoiabcd
    – trungch
    – menalto
    – BigRK
    – mfcphil
    – khanh le
    – Hieu Nguyen

This was the list last time i got it, and i have not got any message for any changes at all in it.
