Now, this is my second template announcement since I joined this template club.
Why do you have a count-down to the release of the template, when the release time is not met – with xenia it was delayed 24 hours or more, now xenia II is delayed “within today”…
Your customers awaits the release time – but we are then very disappointed when the template is not released (as promised)..
My take -> give up the count down – you release the templates when ready instead. (or just say …..Will be released thursday 1. february 2007” instead…

February 1, 2007 at 10:45 am #213976Working on the 2 templates per month is extremely a heavy workload for our whole team, We try to meet the release date on the 1st and 15th every month. The release work also make up to the whole working day.
We count to the time when demo is up and runing then finish the download section.
solsikkehaven, on the 2 – 3 days next to the release day, our team have to work until midnight…
I hope you can sympathy with us..February 1, 2007 at 11:28 am #213977@Hung Dinh 7304 wrote:
Working on the 2 templates per month is extremely a heavy workload for our whole team, We try to meet the release date on the 1st and 15th every month. what I’m saying is – stop using a count down to a time that is not met. This is “false hope” for people – instead you should just announce “next template: JA Xenia II – gamer & shopping cart edition – soon from Joomlart”….and then release the template when ready.
We all appreciate the hard work, but it is the same as if I told a customer “I will be ready tomorrow at 10:00 AM, and then at 10:00 AM just telling ….preparing download……setting up demo…..etc. etc.”….instead I should have told the customer: I will very soon give you the product, I hope it will be ready for you tomorrow.’
We can all wait for one more day, it really doesn’t matter of course, but the point is don’t promise the exact time for release, if you will never meet the deadline anyway.

Thank you Solsikkenhaven for your comments, I will correct this in the next template and try to give the extra time for estimation.
By the way, you can download the Gamer template at http://www.joomlart.com/downloads/cat/joomlart_club_templates/ja_xenia_and_ja_xenia_ii.html
We are working on the Shopping Edition which require careful and detailed instruction
Thank you for your patience.ShannonN FriendShannonN

I hope you can sympathy with us..I think the point is, lets not have any countdown at all Hung, only notify when it is complete and ready, If your staff can’t meet their deadlines and commitments, hire more staff, you are a business, and getting well paid to produce templates.
I undersatnd delays occur etc, But in todays world of competition, if you cannot meet demand you risk going broke or alienating your customer base, I heard excuses such as “support is gone cause we moved office for a week”, sounds like very bad planning to me you knew you were moving? you use computers at home? telework while the moves on?

@ Shannon and solsikkehaven, I have learned a lot from you and we will try to make all necessary things to make JA better and get more happy members 🙂
February 1, 2007 at 6:15 pm #213997i would be interested in knowing what day it will be available… hours is not needed but if at least around the time it is supposed to be released you could say we have another day before the release or if it’s going to be longer.
February 1, 2007 at 8:24 pm #214000You have the BEST support and the BEST template. Xenia does exactally what expensive components do and in a simple way. keep doing your great job!
February 2, 2007 at 2:25 am #214010I personally like the countdown. But, I suppose if my workflow was heavily dependent on the release of a specific template, I might be upset if the release was late. But, that is life- we have all over or underestimated a time or two.
I like the countdown- but I take it with a grain of salt and I don’t heavily rely on something that has not yet been released.
My vote: keep it.
