I figured out how to add it to the top of my page, and it looks nice.. like it does on your sample template, but the newsflashes all repeat on the page below it. If I tell them not to display on the front page, they’re gone from your module too!!

Probably a dumb question. Sorry if so. I’m brand new to all this Joomla stuff!
