Can anyone tell why “br” is styled with 1px height and font-size?

When you hit ENTER in your Joomla editor, which is same as <BR/> if you use JoomlaFCK your cursor will be mini-mini and jump down 1px. When you start typing it is normal again.
This BR-hack is only a visual issue but a little bit irritating.

my guess is that the developer liked the effect

in web design, everything is subjective to the eye of the beholder, the developer and the end user, which is one reason a template designer cannot meet the expectations and needs of the customers, what looks good to the developer does not look good to all the end users. That is why there are so many questions about bolding, lines, removing dots, changing fonts and colors, making things bigger, smaller, brighter, bolder, thinner, etc

yes you can set it as solved.

I understand what “mj1256” mean that we all use some hacks when developing but it is not a answer for my question. Well,well, this is not a biggie.
