I was reading the
JA News FrontPage Module for Joomla! 1.5 Installation Guide
And it says you should Install and enable plugin Ja_Zin (required). As far as i´m concerned this plugin creates a menu but what happens if a already have a menu that i want to asign to the template?
Why is it required???

Once you have your menus organised how you want them, then just disable the Jazin plugin.
This also helps speed things up!

Can i use the teline template without installing the jazin plugin?

March 19, 2010 at 6:37 am #336863Hi berprado
Yes indeed, my Telline III sits don’t have the plugin activated, so you can make the site without it.
If it is activated, when you create new categories, Jazin creates the menu for you automatically is all. If you’re happy to create your own menu if you add a new category, then you don’t need it at all.
March 19, 2010 at 2:49 pm #336916Hi… I tried looking for JAZIN to activate it but it wasn’t there. When I tried installing it said that it was already installed in Joomla. Can you please advice on troubleshooting it? Or is there alink I can use to download it, uninstall the old and install it to Joomla again?
Thanks
TK

March 19, 2010 at 5:09 pm #336928Read more about JaZin here.
If you are satisfied with your menu – you does not need it.To find it – go to Plugin Manager and filter by “JAZin”
March 20, 2010 at 1:47 pm #337010Thanks Gray…. I just started using Teline III and there still is nothing much written in my articles, so if JAZIN does what it says, it will save me a lot if sections and categories automatically come as main menus..
THanks again
TK
March 20, 2010 at 2:03 pm #337012Hi Gray… Thanks for the update… I went to Plugin Manager and I couldn’t find JAZIN anywhere I even went to the uninstall section of Plugin and nothing. I logged on through FTP and found two files in the system of the Plugin Folder. I deleted them and tried reinstalling JAZIN and this is reponse I got: ” Plugin Install: “Plugin “jazin” Already Exists!”
Btw, does the JAZIN zip file only has two files? i.e. jazin.php and jazin.xml
Thanks!

</blockquote>Yes, only 2 files. But have a look at Joomla’s table jos_plugins (use phpMyAdmin for example to check the table and delete the entry on JAZin)

March 20, 2010 at 2:55 pm #337017Hello,
It probably is caused by the fact the plugin is already registered in database.
You can try uploading the files jazin.php and jazin.xml to directory plugins/system by FTP.
After that all will be OK I think.
Otherwise you can first delete the data of plugin in database, than install in backend.Good luck,
Micrantha(edit: OK – Gray posted same time)
