June 9, 2011 at 8:14 pm #165049When I am browsing through your site looking at modules it would be great if there was a list somewhere of the templates that use the module. Maybe this list already exists and I have just not found it? Any helpful pointers would be appreciated.
In this case I am interested in trying JA Content Scroll for Joomla 1.6 and would like to see if I could get it to work on my JA Ores for Joomla 1.6 site. I would like to try to put it in the slideshow position and see how much work it might be to get it to fit there instead of the slideshow. But, first I have to find the module for download. I was thinking that if I knew the templates that used the module that I could download the module from the templates download page.

June 9, 2011 at 8:20 pm #395601I would doubt that will happen. It is easy enough to work out by looking through the template showcase page – http://www.joomlart.com/joomla/templates/showcase.
As for using the content scroller in other locations it may or may not work. It will almost certainly need some styling added to make it fit the asthetic of your site well, It will be an interesting experiment. Please come back and show us how you get on.

Well, it can’t really hurt to ask. Another thing that would be second best to me would be for all the pages about a particular module to include a link on them to the page where a member could download the module. In this case I am interested in downloading the module described on this page: http://demo.joomlart.com/extensions16/index.php/module/ja-contentscroll
However it appears that there are no Joomla 1.6 templates that use this module and I have not been able to find a place where the module could be downloaded. If you know of a place I would sure love the URL and better yet the path you used to arrive at the URL.
Thank you for your help.
Sean
PS. I don’t have to skills to make the modifications I mentioned but now that I just learned about Joomlancers I might put up the project to bid, provided I can download the JA Content Scroll module.

June 10, 2011 at 6:17 am #395654Maybe you have the name wrong or it is an outdated module. There certainly is no module of that name available in the JAEC downloads list. Is there a particular template you have seen this on?

Check out this page and you will see the module mentioned and demonstrated:
http://demo.joomlart.com/extensions16/index.php/module/ja-contentscroll
But, you are running into the same problem (bug?) in that there appears no way to download this module!

June 10, 2011 at 10:46 pm #395777Also, maybe I am doing things the hard way. I basically download the extensions and templates from within the forum. Is there an easier way? Is there a JAEC downloads list that I can see and download from? That might save me a lot of time!

June 10, 2011 at 11:26 pm #395779The JA Contentslider module is part of a few of the template downloads such as the JA Portfolio template – http://www.joomlart.com/forums/downloads.php
The JA Contenscroll module is part of the original Zeolite download.

Isn’t Zeolite only available in Joomla 1.5?
I had found that JA Content Scroll there already but was looking to download the 1.6 version. Still no luck. It is ‘advertized’ but not available.Phill ModeratorPhill

I am asking now to find out whether it is available or not.

Hello Phil,
This is how/where I found it:
First start at the JoomlArt home page: http://www.joomlart.com/
Then click on the J! 1.6 Out button in the main navigation. That takes you to: http://www.joomlart.com/tutorials/joomla16-video-tutorial
Then click on the J1.6 Extensions link in the banner just below the main menu. That takes you to: http://demo.joomlart.com/extensions16/
Then hover your mouse over the Module -> J1.6 Modules icon and select the JA Content Scroll link. This will take you to: http://demo.joomlart.com/extensions16/index.php/module/ja-contentscrollI hope this helps.
Thanks, Sean CarneyPhill ModeratorPhill

Thank you Phil,
JA Content Slider is not the same as JA Content Scroll. Similar but different. 🙂
