    Hi,

Not sure if i set it up correctly, but the Social Feed filled my website’s database with 50,000 articles in less than 2 weeks.

I had to delete them all at the server level and turn them off… can you tell me how I can set up the Social feed extension without burying my database with a flood of content?

Is there a way to program them to trash after a certain time frame?

My server was crashing and crashing and crashing… drove me crazy, but I’d really like to have this function.

    thanks

    Jeff

    Hi Jeff,

I think it comes from JA Social Feed Plugin, if it’s enabled, depending on the time interval you set, it will automatically import feeds from social sites into content of your site. The solution here is that:
    – You can disable this plugin and you can enable it again whenever you want to update content
    – Or set interval time for cron job with a greater value.

    Hope this makes senses.

Thanks for the reply, how is this done? At the server level or in the extension? I will instruct our IT guy, but if you can educate me more about this, it would be great!

    thanks

It’s in backend settings of this plugin (Plugin manager > JA Social Feed plugin), please check out user guide of this plugin for more info: http://www.joomlart.com/documentation/joomla-plugins/ja-social-feed
