January 1, 2010 at 12:56 am #147211I have been having many permission/ownership problems since 12 December. The hosting company says everything is normal. I have tried a thousand things, chmoded back and forth everywhere.
One one site, I just noticed that the date has stopped on the 12th. In fact, it was on the 13th, and I set it to a different city and it changed to the 12th…and now won’t even go back to the 13th.
Perhaps if I know where Teline II is getting the date, this would help debug other problems. I also notice that new articles aren’t showing up in the “Latest” tab.
Two other sites on the same server have the proper date (but they also have problems with installing and erasing components that used to be simple to use).
Any thoughts would be appreciated…been trying to solve it for weeks.

January 1, 2010 at 8:25 pm #327928More data: when creating an article, the creation date is correct. But, of course, when the article is posted, it doesn’t show up since the overall date thinks it is not time yet.
Where does Teline II’s date pull the date from?
And now, when I hit search, I get a blank page with the following URL:
Blank PageAny help would be appreciated.

January 5, 2010 at 9:36 am #328251Hi there
i would like to answer your issues as follows:

Where does Teline II’s date pull the date from?

=> we are displaying the date from joomla. Could you please let me know in detail your question?
And now, when I hit search, I get a blank page with the following URL:

=> It is from Wrapper module. I have seen this notification: The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded.
Maybe your live url in Wrapper module is incorrect.joeflynn Friendjoeflynn

Maybe your live url in Wrapper module is incorrect.
You are exactly correct. I disabled the Wrapper, since I do not think I am using it now. I turned it on when I was trying to solve this other problem. Now the Search and “URL Not Valid” problem is gone.

Ok; I have discovered more weird properties…If I log in from the front end (it can be any user, from registered to superuser), the date of the site becomes the correct date. If I am not logged in, the teline ii front page says that it is Dec 12th.
If I log out, the date at the top goes back to Dec 12.
This is probably something I did while trying to find another problem…once my sites were perfect, then suddenly all threeI started getting permissions errors – I had to experiment with everything to get things normal…since the 12th of December, in fact.
So, many thanks for the help.

January 6, 2010 at 9:01 am #328408Hi, thanks.
You may have missed the first post – I tried this already. Changing the city will move the time (of an article, for example), and if I move it far enough, it will move the date…but only to the 13th of December.
Let me describe the problem again.
If you go to the site, you will see that the front page date is stuck on 12 December. If I log onto the site, it shows today’s date correctly.
On another site, it shows the correct date in both places. So, the problem isn’t hosting site based (a bad clock, for example).
On a third site, where I am experimenting with teline iii, it also shows the 12 December date.
Articles don’t show up properly on the site or in the “Latest” panel, because of the date screw-up. In the back-end, the dates all look correct—for example, in the Control Panel and the automatic dates in the New Article page.
Since it on two sites, I suspect that there is some component (or module, or plug-in) that I installed that is messing things up. But since I have also had folder/file permission/ownership problems, I thought you could point to where the date is picked up from…then I could make sure that “place” was open to be used.
Thanks again.

January 9, 2010 at 5:55 pm #328812Two sites still have this problem.
Go to the front page; date stuck
Go to newly written article: Correct Date
Clicking on different Sections gives different dates…another site on the same server (Taline II also) has correct dates all around. Looking at both with Firefly (I am really just an amateur with this tool) doesn’t show a difference.
Please someone – where exactly does the date come from, and why would it pick some place wrong…that stays stuck at the same moment…
Thanks

January 10, 2010 at 10:26 pm #328912OK: The Answer
Something was locking up the Cache Folder. I used the Tools:Clean Cache, but there was still folders and files in there.
I tried to erase them with extplorer, but it gave a Fail. I used my ftp program, CyberDuck, and that was able to erase them all. The first system suddenly had the correct date and all date-centric tools work.
I worked it slower on the 2nd site that had the same stuck date problem – I got rid of a lot of files and folders with no change – then I got rid of a folder named JA News2 and everything went to normal.
