View Module Position Image (used positions only).
Use Module Position Overlay in Template (used & empty module positions).

in the Puresite userguide are showing JA Orisite template not puresite

Though i would use to use ?tp=1 infront of your domain url.. that will also highlight the modules not used in the demo but available in the template.
