    I have configured two k2 filter modules:
    A) One searching on extra field group “beach” (have selected to search only extra field of this group)
    B) One searching on extra field group “dinning” (have selected to search only extra field of this group)

    There are:
    A) 124 K2 Items of type “beach” (belonging to a root k2 category Beaches)
    B) 217 K2 items of type “dinning” (belonging to a root k2 category Dinning)
    C) 1221 of published K2 items of all data types (should all be indexed, right?)

    Both modules have turned on the option “override plug-in configuration”.

    Module (A) for beaches has “Show categories drop-down” option TURNED OFF and is configured to search only extra fields of extra field group “beach”

    Module (B) for dinning has “Show categories drop-down” option TURNED ON and is configured to search only extra fields of extra field group “dinning”

    When I perform a flat search (no criteria selected, show all results) in both cases:
    A) in the first case (module A) search is returning 217 results (CORRECT)
    B) in the second case (module B) search is returning 924 results (WRONG)

    So I guess searching for articles of a specific extra field group is not implemented.

    You can only narrow the search down by searching for items belonging to a specific category (and hopefully all k2 items of a specific extra field group would have a common root category).

    If so, how could I HIDE from k2 filter module the field “Category”?

    A second question is why the search results of module B are 924 and not 1221?

    A sensible answer would be that k2 filter module returns only k2 items with associated extra field groups thus its search result number is less than 1221. Is it right?

    Any help in here? Is this forum dead?

    I am really getting frustrated about this module … quite instable and erroneous behaviour … I am thinking of requesting a refund, so please give some help here!!!

    Hi thanili

    Could you provide me your site and screenshot indicate wrong searching ?

    It is better if you also provide me admin & ftp account. It help me check your issue faster.

    Note: I saw you also have a thread in http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/wrong-search-results-returned-after-query-for-specific-values-of-an-extra-field/. Is it raised the same issues like this thread ?

    Thanks,

    Yes these are relevant issues (not exactly the same) with different questions.

    i have also posted relevant information (ftp & admin accounts) at Ticket ID: WGC-626-79082. Is it suffice for you or you would like to re-post?

    Hi thanili

    >>> A) 124 K2 Items of type “beach” (belonging to a root k2 category Beaches)
    >>> B) 217 K2 items of type “dinning” (belonging to a root k2 category Dinning)
    >>> C) 1221 of published K2 items of all data types (should all be indexed, right?)
    Right

    >>> A) in the first case (module A) search is returning 217 results (CORRECT)
    >>> B) in the second case (module B) search is returning 924 results (WRONG)
    Not wrong. When category isn’t set and extra fields are set Any, the result will show all items.
    However, this is a case that we need to consider and fix it.
    I will fix it as soon as possible.

    Yeap it should only search in categories (or better categories with this extra field group assigned) for which extra fields for search are declared!!!

    For example if i have 10 categories (cat1.1 – cat1.10) and 3 extra field groups (efg1.1 – efg1.3) and assignments are as follow:

    cat1.1 -> efg1
    cat1.2 -> efg2
    cat1.3 -> efg3
    cat1.4 -> efg3
    cat1.5 -> efg2
    cat1.6 -> efg1
    cat1.7 -> efg1
    cat1.8 -> efg1

    cat1.9 -> efg3
    cat1.10 ->efg2

    and on module i have declared extra fields for searching which ONLY belong to efg1 + efg2 THEN search should be performed ONLY for items belonging to categories: cat1.1, cat1.2, cat1.5, cat1.6, cat1.7, cat1.8, cat1.10
