July 25, 2007 at 8:20 pm #121634well, thought I posted this, but apparently I took a call and didn’t.
So, here it is. My partner and I are using teline for the following site: http://www.realwisconsinnews.com
Any review and input would be appreciated.
We’re having a few problems, but have been figuring them out as we go. We are noobs to not only joomla but web development in general with only basic back end skills, hence why we went to joomla.
Specifically would like to know how to add rotating banner ads above the template sort of ala http://www.freemagazine.fi
If anybody is in Milwaukee area, would like to hear from you, as we are looking for a tech person to partner with so we can report and write more. We believe there is pretty significant potential ad revenue going forward. We can share business model in person, but in short is similar to Onion with some subtle changes to maximize net.
Also, we have an opportunity to build some basic financial websites for brokers (investment and mortgage) and insurance agents due to my background in those fields. If anybody has experience with that and would like to potentially take on advisorsquare.com down the road let me know (my finance backgroung, your tech, could be gimoungous). My partner is a teacher so we have some leads in education as well. So again, a tech person with some spare time to donate while seeing if we can make a buck would be of interest talking to.

If you know a little php,css it shouldnt be a problem.
Have you done any changes to the template itself or is it untouched? -
