May 7, 2007 at 10:57 pm #120131Hello Joomlart Members
until today, I was successfully running my teline template locally under Xampp. For whatever reason, I cannot start the Apache Server ( if I do so, I get the message “busy”) This is a real mess, since I am blocked from working on my template. Does anybody have a proposal. I am afraid of touching the xampp or apache files… the joomla template and data are located in the htdoc file. Do you recommend to uninstall/ install Xampp or part of it? Is there a risk of loosing data…
I really apreciate your kind help

thank you most sincerey for your reply. Before proceeding I would like to be on the save side… Do I have to uninstall xampp . What happens with the teline templates/ joomla installation if I do so- probably not affected, but I dont know, and last but not least : how do I install the teline /joomla docs- now residing in htdoc- into jsas? I really appreciate your kind help

May 8, 2007 at 11:13 am #219668Oh Yes, absolutely.
Shall try it asap as an alternative.
Kind regards
zorcolinoMay 8, 2007 at 4:51 pm #219685i prefer installing the packages independently (apache, mysql, php, perl, python. etc installed separately).
this way, they will have less dependencies and offer ease in updating to the latest release 🙂ShannonN FriendShannonN

zorcolinoJSAS is a self contained WAMP, it has own version of sql, apache and Joomla, sets up apache and sql then allows site creation installion of joomla etc
the instructions say it clearer than I do works well for me teline installs well if you replace the built in Joomla install with teline install

May 9, 2007 at 7:22 am #219746I always install stuff “live”. In other words on a live server. I guess that is the beauty of having a live webserver. LOL.
I recommend everyone get one themselves. But yes, I also used to use the Jsas. A great tool. However, I like now to work live with every project, making it easier for the clients and myself to see live changes. Good luck on your projects.

I have an old linux box i can set up as a live server but a bit lazy to go to the extreme JSAS is pretty good to me
