    Hi there,

Basically I am trying to layout my site just like the demo with the featured products module displaying my featured items.

On my site the vm-featured products are tiny and look nothing like the ones shown in the demo. (see images)

As you can see in the demo the featured products are big and approx 250px each

As you can see on my site the featured products are tiny approx 90px each

Can someone please tell me how I can change the size of this, to make it look exactly like the demo (hence why I bought the template)

I am getting pretty fed up, I have had to post over 4 forum posts since I bought this template and I do not understand why your templates would not be set up exactly like the demo sites. It’s technically false advertising.

Anyway thanks in advance anyone that helps me out with this.

Question . . . When you installed your template, did you do so utilizing the quickstart+sample data installation process?

    Hi there,

No I didn’t use the quickstart, should I try to re-install the template using quickstart?

    Thanks,

Personally, I’ve always found it much much easier to start with a virtual clone of the demo site – and modify from there – rather than struggling to re-invent the wheel . . . which is why I wrote HOW TO CLONE THE DEMO USING QUICKSTART INSTALLATION – A Step-By-Step Guide

Hopefully, after reading through the intro and following the steps, you will see and understand what I mean.

    Hi Tom,

Thanks, that’s perfect I will delete everything from my hosting account and start again using a clone of the demo.

    Thanks again,

Glad to be of assistance . . . Let me know how it turns out for you.

Hopefully, this may resolve some of the other layout configuration issues you’ve been experiencing as well.

    Hi there,

Having a little problem with the Joomla installation, I’m getting the error “Could not connect to the database. Connector returned number: Unable to connect to the Database: Could not connect to MySQL.”

I have setup the database in mysql and entered the info, but keep getting the message. Could you help me out?

It may be an issue relating to the old database you had previously set up. Did you delete that old database (from your previous installation) and set up a new CLEAN database for the new installation? Also check to make sure you’re entering the correct database name (with the correct prefix (if applicable)) and password.

    Hi there,

Sorry about the last, I have fixed and installed the clone of the demo as you suggested.

Please take a look at http://www.themedalguy.com it’s missing the virtuemart stuff alltogether

    Thanks,
    Richard

    Thanks Tom,

Got it installed with all of the sample data and is looking the same as the demo 🙂

One thing I noticed that was different between old and new with sample data is the version of virtuemart, could this be a cause of why I couldn’t get it setup like the demo before?

Thanks for all the help 🙂
