    Hi,
wondering if some one can help with a few questions:

    1. You tube playing in the mod_avreloaded player – how do you make this happen (I can see how you upload a movie and get it to play but what about you tube and other hosted movies)

    2. you tube module (mod_custom) – how do you get youtube to play – I have gone in to edit the play list in the module but when I try to assign how the video opens up I get a new window with the youtube site opening up

thank you to anyone that can help.

it a code, This example of embedding media from YouTube uses the following tag:

{youtube}6lbvSBNLLoo{/youtube}, the original page at YouTube has the URL

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lbvSBNLLoo

you can read it on their site

Thank you mj1256 for trying to help.

What you have said is how the system works in its most simple form. I have read the instructions at allvideos.fritz many times….and so have many people reporting problems with this module on this forum.

Teline II is trying for a more sophisticated solution. It uses a playlist that is supposed to get filled by an automated process; click a button, put in the string of title, location and that gets referred into your playlist.

But it doesn’t happen. There are several people hoping for a solution. Because it should be easy. It is probably just a tweak…

it can use both, but not at the same time, i have the playlist function working without any issues on teline ii

for that you need to host the videos and the thumbs yourself

JA is not going to give a solution because it is a 3rd party module, not one of theirs, therefore it works the way it works, but you can go to the JED and find another video module to put there, one that meets your specs

MCE; I appreciate all the help you give, but in this case you are not correct.

“…JA is not going to give a solution because it is a 3rd party module, not one of theirs, therefore it works the way it works, but you can go to the JED and find another video module to put there, one that meets your specs”

This is not true, correct, or fair. Administrators will help if the modules or plugins that they put into the package are not working well.

For example, there is a flaw in the way that TelineII works with MCE. There was a tip just this week that pointed out that , for the MCE editor, you must go to Administrator -> Site -> Global configuration -> System -> change Enable Flash Uploader to No in order to allow the editor to upload from the Insert Image button sequence.

MCE is a 3rd Party module, not one of theirs, yet they gave a solution to an interface problem.

Likewise, there is something wrong with the way that AllVideos is working. It is a splendid addition to the splendid Teline II. It is at the top of the page – it was one of the major reasons I became a member
…and it doesn’t work as advertised.

“…it can use both, but not at the same time, i have the playlist function working without any issues on teline ii…”

The 2nd paragraph of the AllVideos documentation says:
The AllVideos Reloaded Plugin gives you the ability to embed online streaming videos inside your content (articles) as well as your own video or audio content that resides on your server. That means that you can still use, for example, YouTube to upload your videos and then embed (stream) them inside your site…

Perhaps the part in bold is a bad translation. I will take the videos out of the video folder and see if I can make playlists work…but I remember putting videos in the folder because I couldn’t get the playlist working. But, I am not so smart. I would love to see a step by step break out of how to make a playlist work in Teline II. And since this topic comes up every two or three weeks, I’m sure that others would appreciate it too.

I would even pay for it…but I submit that some Administrator should look into it and make it clear how to make playlists work. If a few people can’t figure it out, perhaps it is pilot error. If many people can’t figure it out, then something is wrong with the implementation or the explanation.

“…for that you need to host the videos and the tumbs yourself”
I think I know what you are answering and I agree. Thumbs are not automatically going to be created from the frame one wants and it isn’t going to be in the folder automatically.

But, you should make Rule Number 1A: Don’t use the pronouns “that” or “it” unless the subject is very clear and very close…or they will cause more confusion for dummies like me.

“…and find another video module to put there, one that meets your specs…”
    1) AllVideos meets my specs…
    2) There is no other video module that meets the specs that AllVideos does.
    3) It is the implementation or the explanation that is holding it back.
I suspect that there is something in the playlist supplied with Teline II,
or there is a hole in the explanation.
