I have been a big fan and user of Teline, so when Teline II came out I built my site with it. Well this is my situation. My website using Teline II is built into a folder that I will call “TelineII” (eg http://www.mysite.com/TelineII)
Now I love Teline IV and have used it to build the same site but this time, I did not use the folder (TelineII) and built it in my public_html so the site is now http://www.mysite.com.
My dilemma is I want to delete the TelineII folder(where my old website is but since I publish news, most of my articles have been indexed by google and other SE, and I believe it will hurt my site if I delete it.
I need some advise on the best approach to eliminate TelineII and use Teline IV.

PS: I dont want(not sure how) to upgrade the Teline II to Teline IV, and also want to do away with the folder approach that I have with Teline II
    Thanks

    Hi akwasi,

For once you will need to resubmit your sitemap to “Google Webmaster Tools“, so that your new site is indexed. Now done that, you will need to redirect your important links from the old site to the new site or you can use .htaccess to redirect all the subfolder requests to the main site.

It will take from few days to weeks for google to update your links and your ranking might drop in this period but it will be back to what it is now in few months.

You can also consult for professional help on this.

    Regards

    Arvind
