August 20, 2008 at 5:08 am #132409Hi There
I was just checking my site stats this morning and I’m getting hundreds of 404 errors:
I had over 1,000 ‘404’ errors yesterday. :((
Can somebody tell me what this zoomincur is? Plus, more importantly, how to stop these 404 errors.

August 20, 2008 at 11:24 am #266282Might be related to CSS as I had the same problems with some module, a while ago.
zoomin.cur is the overlay displayed over the pictures wich has the popup effect, giving a hint that you can zoom (in/out) the thumbnail to a bigger picture.same for zoomout.cur
You can see it in IE and FF, not in Opera.Link to site please so we can see the bad reference.

August 20, 2008 at 12:30 pm #266287Try this :
open this file : /templates/ja_teline_ii/highslide/highslide.css
and give that cursor the fulll path like this :
.highslide {
cursor: url(/templates/ja_teline_ii/highslide/graphics/zoomin.cur), pointer;
outline: none;
}If you don’t want the feature at all, you can even delete those lines.
Good luck.

August 21, 2008 at 1:58 pm #266466Nope that didn’t work. However, I do need a fix as this level of 404’s is totally not acceptable!
/graphics/zoomin.cur 5591
I can not have over 5,000 404 errors per month!
JA staff, Mods, anyone?

August 21, 2008 at 5:17 pm #266512questbg, the only references to the file zoomin.cur are in :
/plugins/content/ja_highslide.xml
/templates/ja_teline_ii/highslide/highslide.css
/templates/ja_teline_ii/templateDetails.xmlThe only options you have are :
1 – Delete the code from /templates/ja_teline_ii/highslide/highslide.css
at line 3
<blockquote>
.highslide {
cursor: url(graphics/zoomin.cur), pointer;
outline: none;
}
</blockquote>at line 262
<blockquote>
.highslide {
cursor: url(highslide/graphics/zoomin.cur), pointer;
outline: none;
}
</blockquote>2 – Download my moded file, make a backup of your file and upload the file attached to this post
You will have to empty your joomla cache as css files are often cached, your browser cache and test again.
If still no luck, you are using another module / plugin wich uses popups or includes zoomin.cur file.

August 22, 2008 at 5:26 am #266630Thanks lcristian
I have taken a backup of the original .css file and uploaded the new one.
I have taken a note of the current 404’s (6,458) and will continue to monitor the number. Hopefully it won’t increase any further now!!
Thanks again

August 23, 2008 at 6:04 am #266851Update:
HI lcristian
Well, the number of 404 errors on this file:
appears to have slowed down. In the last 24 hours it went from 6,458 ‘404’ errors to 6,642, so the removal of code you supplied has had some effect.
However, lots of the ‘other’ zoomin.cur ‘404’ errors still appear to be increasing:
and
I will continue to monitor some of these errors for the next 24 hours and see if they are slowing down too!
I’ll let you know the results tomorrow.
Thanks again

August 23, 2008 at 2:25 pm #266910Hey Chris,
Looks like you still have some problems on your site with missing files.
Have a look at this link and watch for red paths that is shows your missing files.
Correct the problems and your 404 errors will dissapear.;)Good luck.

August 24, 2008 at 5:01 am #266969Hi hainn84
<em>@hainn84 75376 wrote:</em><blockquote>please check again templatesja_teline_iihighslidegraphics folder , i think your site is missing some file in that folder
</blockquote>I checked the folder here on my server:
and the contents of the folder appear to be the same as the folder you attached:
however, clicking on the link as posted by lcrisitan above, these files are still showing to be missing:
This seems strange to be receiving 404 errors for files that exist? :((
Here’s some items on the current list of 404’s:
Saturday 8.57 am
graphics/zoomin.cur – 6642
lifestyle/life/60-life/graphics/zoomin.cur – 635
component/jcs/jcs/graphics/zoomin.cur – 583
classified-ads/graphics/zoomin.cur – 302
travel/graphics/zoomin.cur – 299
legalfinance/graphics/zoomin.cur – 251This morning 7.50 am
graphics/zoomin.cur – 6868
lifestyle/life/60-life/graphics/zoomin.cur – 643
component/jcs/jcs/graphics/zoomin.cur – 583
classified-ads/graphics/zoomin.cur – 318
travel/graphics/zoomin.cur – 313
legalfinance/graphics/zoomin.cur – 260Which indicates they are still increasing!
This is even stranger, because, if I type this url into a browser:
http://www.questbg.com/templates/ja_teline_ii/highslide/graphics/controlbar2.gifThen the graphic does exist:
Plus, as you can see above the zoomin.cur also exists in that folder, so I can’t understand the 404’s?
Help!
Thanks
