Hi,
I have installed the QuickStart belonging to MusicState and it installed perfectly. I have tried disable all module positions except the header and footer as I do not want anything to show in the mainbody but as soon as I disable any module from main body, Jomsocial start to display.
But, I have found a different solution for it. However, I still have some unwanted elements showing in the middle. All I want to show on the home page is the slideshow at the top and the footer links at the bottom.
What do I need to do to accomplish that?

    .frontpage #gkMainbody,.frontpage #gkPageContent,.frontpage a.gkSectionNav{ display: none !important;}

    as you already had suffix for pages added as per documentation

        .gkIsWrapper-gk_musicstate figcaption > a {
    display: none;
}
