Hi
How to replicate this issue in Guru?
As i can see its working fine. any screenshot of the error page you can share?
guru - add student to a course via administration
- Edited
hi
i'm one week later, and style not able to upload it...
my server support worked a lot on it...
heres the constatation:
I spent quite some time on this image upload issue. Image uploader giving the error is a part of Guru component.
/administrator/components/com_guru/helpers/fileuploader.php
It returns the error message we see
return array('error'=> 'Could not save uploaded file.' .
'The upload was cancelled, or server error encountered');
During upload it also works with the database. It is possible the database and Guru component are out of sync and we have such issue.
Visual editor does upload images without an issue as shown on attached screenshot. .
and they are true...i can upload images everywhere in my website except in guru...
i can upload in guru description with visual composer...
i also try to move this website on another hosting services...and there too i cant upload in guru...
so...can you look more at it, if it was only a tmp permission trouble...i will not be able to upload any images or install other component...

Hi
As i understand you said its working in the Editor and in Guru and as well now
when you upload it via Cover image.
I tried it again and but i can not replicate the issue on site. We need the path where you are uploading an image in guru that is giving you error , because Guru cover images upload fine, and other areas too.
In your screenshot its also showing that you added image via editor without any issue in Guru.
and where do i found this path to give you? Ninja
you have my admin login...yo can see it?
do you telling me that you are able to upload a category course cover Image and not me?
becose me, with cover image it'S error...
with JCE editor in any text...it'S working.

Hi
not sure what has been changed again as it was working when i checked it last time for it.
i am again getting . Upload directory isn't writable. Error now.
I need Alin to check it deeply as changing the media path is also not working and its only on your site.
Allow me for some more time till monday so once Alin back i can check it again with him.

Once the file is uploaded, it must be saved in tmp folder but for some reason, it is not. No rights to be saved there. can you please provide us cPanel access? we ned to read an error log file to see if there is any info recorded, something regarding this issue.
Please let me know, you can either add data in the secure form or send to my email alin@joomlart.com
Thank you!
style not able to upload any images...i sent an email to you @alindinca
rosaliesimple I am afraid that I can't find what is wrong. The idea is that the server do not allow images upload but I am not sure why is not.
This is not a common issue and is something that I can't control in any way.
I tried to make new folders via FTP, thinking that is a permission, I then changed and tested different permissions.. nothing. It should be server settings issues.
Did you speak with the server provider? maybe they can read an error log or something that record any type of error regarding images upload or even they have any restriction in place.
Thank you!
Alin
i try to move the website to another server...i can see it with the ip and a VHost plugin to chrome
and i'm not able to upload any images on the other server too...
rosaliesimple
Hi
Did you contacted your server provider about this issue?
to check it more, i need to install your site backup on my local to see if its working on that?
If yes allow me to test, it will make it more clear the issue is on your site installation on server.

Did you contacted your server provider about this issue?
Hi
i could not able to replicate this issue on my local too, Kindly update PHP to PHP 7 or later and raise this issue to hosting provider for uploading permission.

hi
i moved my website to another hosting
and still not able to upload any images to GURU...I start to find that ordinary...
answer from my new hosting support:
I've set 755 permission for the image folder images/guru and the issue persists. I even tried to set a different folder as the Media Storage for images but the issue persists. There are no error messages in the logs and I don't see any permission issue for the folders in your account.
can you please correct that bug
rosaliesimple
Hi
The issue is from the server, still its giving same error. I also tried to add new folder via FTP.
But its gives error 550 New directory: Disk quota exceeded
There must be permission/ownership issue .
Its something i can not fix in Guru, if server not able to allow the file permission.
The permission of Guru images folder is showing wrong.
can you give me you cpanel login in Edit fields option, i will have a look again, if i can found anything wrong in it.
i modify the ftp field of this post for the new cpanel login
i dont understand how i moved a permission file from one hosting to the other
i will try to install the component on my third hosting (hostgator) if it's do it too...
ath is the guru folder i want to check the permission...
rosaliesimple
Hi
Can you test it now.
I am able to upload the cover image for course : http://prntscr.com/n4fdq4
hey
wath have you done, i'm able too...
rosaliesimple
I changed permission for the directory for Guru images.
Glad to hear it works now
Since the issue is fixed, i am closing this thread. If you have any issue in future, do not hesitate to open a new thread.
