Thanks I went through to this doc which is talking about releases like 1.1x this is way lower than what I have.
There seems to be no docs for my version it jumps from 1.1x to 4.3 so I do not know how to proceed.

    Since your version is 4.2.5, there is no need to go on frozen codes.
    You can follow the steps give in blog post and update the site. Let us know if you have any issue in upgarde steps.

        Could you confirm what version of Jomsocial you are using because in first post you shared 4.2.5 and after that 1.1x to 4.3 that makes confusion, I will share the update steps with you.

          follow the below steps:
          1. Check the system requirements Here
          2. Create a full Backup your website
          3. If you use JomSocial 4.2 download and install Jomsocial version as > 4.3 > 4.4 > 4.5.x
          4.Here you can find the older version of Jomsocial
          5. In the last version install JomSocial 4.5.5 from new unified download system here
          Install the package 4.5.5.zip installer file

          If you notice any issue Open a post on Jomsocial forum here and submit the login details and FTP account details for staff. We will check it.
