Hi D,
Can you add access details for the site?
Thanks
Paul
Hi Paul, thank you. I have added them to the post. Please feel free to do as you wish with the site, as mentioned this is only a base build before we customise it.
I look forward to your response.
Best Regards
Donna
Hi D,
I get the same when installing the template
The template does take a very long time to install - is there a lot of stuff of the server?
You do have caching options enabled which I've disabled
Cheers
Paul
Hi Paul,
The site has it's own cPanel account on a shared server, I do not have any issues on other sites on the server. However, I have created an instance of the site on another server with another host and the same issue occurs. I have rolled back this site to prior to the update so it is a fresh install of the site.
I have updated the site url in the credentials section, the login details are the same, so you can test on this other server.
Best Regards
Donna
Hi Donna,
I have downloaded and installed an akeeba backup of the site and it works without any changes from me
Have you checked the server log?
Are you able to increase the memory available to the site?
With "However, I have created an instance of the site on another server with another host and the same issue occurs." - what amount of memory is available on this site and have you checked the error log on this one as well?
Thanks
Paul
I've updated the template and framework to latest version - unfortunately it has lost the settings
Are you able to revert it back and I will try again
Thanks for your patience on this
Cheers
Paul
Hi Paul,
I have reverted it back - If you select the backup called 'Backup before template update' this should revert it back.
Thank you for your time looking into this.
Regards
Donna
Hi Donna,
Can you view the site now and test saving changes in the admin
I have also updating Joomla on this test site to check there were no problems with that and the template / framework
If the site is looking good I will explain what I did so you can follow this process
Thanks
Paul
Hi Paul,
Yes this site seems absolutely fine so if you could advise the process i'll gladly make a note for future use.
Thank uou for your support on this.
Best Regards
Donna
Hi Donna,
For this to work - you need to save the preset and the layout with a short unique name with no spaces or special characters
Once these are saved the update does not affect these files
Are you familiar with how to save and rename the layout / preset?
Cheers
Paul
Hi Paul, I am yes, I'll give this a go
Best of luck
Cheers
Paul
For any other reader of this thread
Save your own named preset here - typing your own preset name with no spaces or special characters
and for the layout
and save
Then you can update buildr
It is possible to use these named files on different sites - if needed
Cheers
Paul
Hi Paul,
Just an update - I have updated the template and the front end of the site now displays correctly, however the module positions themselves do not display on the Design tab even after clicking 'Load Layout' I have tried to load some of the built in layouts also and all of them are empty.
This is really becoming a pain now. I have another post open about the Top1/Top2 positions overlapping to which I was advised to update the template, which I cannot do as I then cannot administer it. I have attempted this 6-7 times now with out any change in behaviour. Please can you look in to this as soon as possible?
I have updated the credentials above for the site I am currently working on. Please feel free to back up and restore using Akeeba as needed.
Regards
Donna
Hi Donna,
Have you updated the site? as I can see the layout section in the admin
Thanks
Paul
Hi Paul,
No I reverted back to the template version 1.3.2 as I cannot administer the template after the update due to the module positions not appearing. As this is a current build I cannot leave it without the module positions for any period of time as I am still building the site. However, as mentioned please feel free to backup/revert using akeeba to test.
There are still issues with styles/colors not being applied in this older version of the template also thus I would really like to get the template upto date for future builds.
Regards
D
Hi D,
I've taken another backup and download of the site
I've installed it locally and updated the latest template version and zen plugin
The layout is intact and I can save different settings
Are you losing the layout when you open the settings or after a save?
Cheers
Paul
Hi Paul, the settings are missing after I update the template. If I then go into the template to load the previous saved settings the module positions do not appear, even when applying the default settings packaged with the template.
I have not updated the Zen plugin, could that be the problem?
Regards
D
